Need a sizeable exodus on their defense, yes.

It'd be nice.

... It's fifth on the list of priorities behind defense, defense, defense, and defense.

Just what the wings need, to spend 4m+ on more bottom pairing defenders

The Blues don't even bother to dignify that with a response.

I cannot imagine Buch going without some sort of D or pick to get D coming back. Army says he wants to extend him, so using that asset on an expensive, small winger who is mostly a one zone player doesn't fit. Like I always says, there's value and then there's the right value. Detroit has 412 awesome young Dmen, I'm not shipping Buch to Detroit without one of them coming back the other way. I'd like to think Army would say the same.

Sadly we sit on them all while insisting on giving a wet fart like Petry Top 4 minutes...

****, we dragged ass on calling Edvinsson up for 70 games.

Debrincat has much less of an impact on the game than Kyrou does in terms of a 200 foot game. I can’t imagine trading a guy like Buch for Cat would be beneficial at all. As much flack as Kyrou catches Debrincat would probably catch double unless he was lighting the world on fire. Which he hasn’t at all the 2nd half of the season.

If you want to live on the fallacy of a tangible value, I can see the rationale. But moving Buch for Debrincat will mitigate the loss of Buch in the scoring area while blowing a hole in another area.

If there’s a deal to be made of Buch going to Detroit, I’d agree with mokumboi. It would have to start with one of their young defenders and act as an accelerant to fixing our defense. Although in general, I know our goalies have played great but our defense hasn’t really been that bad this year. We lack a #1 still, and there’s certainly a lot to be desired in terms of passing on our back end. But for the most part as a sum of the whole, our defense has gotten pretty decent results.

CHI is NOT paying a 2nd for Walman, and they just aren't buying in general, let alone LD, which is the last position we should be adding.
