I would say we do the following.

2024 Offseason
Draft: RD Carter Yakemchuck
Extend: Perunovich (2 years)
Sign: Stephenson (4 years)
Trade: Buchnevich (1st + prospect)

Neighbours - Thomas - Kyrou
Saad - Stephenson - Snuggerud
Bolduc - Schenn - Hayes
Toropchenko - Sunny - Walker
Leddy - Parayko
Krug - Kessel
Perunovich - Faulk
Binnington
Hofer

2025 Offseason
Draft: LD Matthew Schaefer and Center (idk who)
Extend: Neighbours (2 years), Toropchenko (2 years), Hofer (2 years)
Sign: Gavrikov (3 years - time for when Schaefer is ready)
Acquire: Brady Tkachuk for Bolduc + 2026 1st + 2027 2nd + another prospect
Move: Hayes and Krug

Tkachuk - Thomas - Snuggerud
Neighbours - Stephenson - Kyrou
Schenn - Dvorsky - Saad
Toropchenko - Dean - Sunny

Yakemchuk will be gone by the time the blues draft. The line up next season should not include both Krug and Perunovich. One needs to go and probably easier to move Scotty P.

What do we get back for Scotty P? And then maybe we sign a defenseman to a 4-year deal too

I honestly don’t know. Probably only like 3rd rd pick.

He shows promise at times but his dzone coverage is not great and he can’t influence bigger guys in front of net

Also, I think we really need to move up in the draft. Use that TOR 2nd with our first and move up 4 spots. I think we need top 11 to get one of the defenseman with true Top 4 potential

I’d agree but don’t know that team in top 11 would go for that. Would prob need to use own 2nd rd pick minimally to make that happen

New Jersey is the only team I can see doing that. We are kind of in no mans land right now. If all defense are taken I don’t think we take Jiricek at 16. Id rather take a forward and grab 2 defenseman in the 2nd round

If taking Jiricek makes it possible to get his brother down the road, then I’m game….

I hope I’m wrong but my gut feeling tells me Scotty P will only bring in a 5th rounder at best. A small defenseman who isn’t physical and refuses to shoot the puck along with his small sample size won’t bring much in.

I’d say if Jiricek is available we need to take him. Chernyshov and Connelly would be good LW additions.

Woah dude, that is big brain. Idk how we can even get his brother via trade but maybe free agency later down the road

His injuries make me weary. I think Jiricek is available at 16 no doubt. Maybe he is the right pick to make. I think he doesn’t have top pairing potential but at least middle pairing. He is more of a high floor than high ceiling pick.

I think the hope is that a lot of the teams that are in the top 12 are fair loaded at the D position. For example, Detroit probably goes for a forward, so they might concievably rather have something like 16-Brandsegg-Nygaard + 2nd round pick than 12-Yakemchuk.
