Campbells buried salary was 3.85m
His buyout average over 6 years is 1.75m
If they RS of 1.75m for Andersons 3 years they save long and short term
Long term thats 3.85m off the books in exchange for roughly 2m in cap savings per year without have to buy Campbell out to do it.
MTL burying Campbell saves them nearly 2m as well

At 3.75m cap i think Seattles a good fit at a price thats basically covering the cost of RS for 3 years barely.
It doesnt have to be Seattle though i just thought they made sense and are building a playoff team looking for big puck cycling wingers.

From SEA POV they added a cost effective Power Center for really no cost as Anderson at 3.74m isnt a bad value for a Physical guy like Anderson.
But really there's a few teams that would be as good a fit at that cap range it doesnt have to be SEA

Which will average out to 3.85m from 3 years to spread out over 6 years
3.85m for AHL is down from his 5m NHL salary, whats the point in buying him out for no immediate savings worth having at the cost of tying our hands til 2029-30
We wouldnt buy him out next year thats for sure .
If we did it would give 1.2-2.7m short term but transfer the savings to an additional 3 years.
Keeping him in the minors until June 2025 get better and in the final year becomes quite ideal

That said Dubnyk was in our system in a similar position
He sent him on a path to Sean Burke who rebounded his Career making him atop 10 Starter in the NHL multiple times after
Maybe this time MTL helps Rebound Campbell , maybe we bring Price in to work with him like he did with Montembault last summer.
Maybe we can rebound him good enough to off load him

In either case MTL and EDM saves nearly 2m in cap over the term of Anderson/Campbells remaining 3 years

well one reason that comes to mind to cut him loose is to free up a spot for a prospect.

What Prospect , do you watch Laval at all? Thats the one area we're weak and their's a 2 year Gap where there actually is a need .
Dobes had all but 4 of his losses this year because he had no Goalie Support in Mann so they were arguably among the worth Goalies in the AHL
Fast Forward to Decemeber when MTL signs the Goalie no league would take after he threw a Waterbottle at a Ref and tried to fight him in the SHL like a year or two ago.
He comes in providing just basic AHL back up support and Dobas goes on this insane streak over 15 games with 12 wins 1 loss and 2 OT losses. Even now the teams won 8 of their last 10 he started 6 and lost 1 . But This Goalie just rebounded his Career after being a top guy in Europe over the years he's broke into the NHL/AHL system and he wont be staying .

Campbell even as is will Give Dobes enough of a break to pace himself continuing his Evolution as a Starter which will be a 2-3 year process before he'll be able to make the jump just as Primeau has good odds of slowly growing to a point Monty might be expendable 2-3 years from now. By this time our top 5 Russian Junior Goalie will be in the KHL hopefully, our Top 5 NCAA Goalie leading the top ranked team in the NCAA will be entering the AHL and Quentin Miller who will be turning pro after next year unless he can squeeze in another season as an over age player if he chooses. Miller is a Title winning Goalie who got traded after a rebuild was triggered to a playoff team for depth but sadly they're down 3-0 and Millers been given 0 starts despite their starter choking but i digress.

Timeline fits and Campbell would be way more usefull in Laval then Anderson would be in MTL over the next 2-3 years because we actually have Depth that could fill Anderson spot
Where as no matter what MTL has to get a new AHL Back up next year for Dobes or risk another start so bad they nearly miss the playoffs like this year. If they waited another month we'd be Golfing
