Admitting the Sharks don't trade for him. But he really isn't a bad player. But what is so silly in so many of these Kampf trade posts, is why M NTC Kampf would have any poor team with cap on his trade list. Players with trade restrictions, especially players who might be on their last contract, want to play with a contender.

I could see them going after Robertson. I don’t think the Leafs can keep him at the NHL level all year and he won’t clear waivers. The question is what would the sharks give for him? TB 3rd?

ehhh maybe, I go back and forth on Robertson, we don't need another smallish forward, but on the other hand, sharks need NHL level talent, and a young forward like him could absolutely be someone San Jose is interested in

Nothing, not hating on him but Grier has been preaching size and grit and he has none of that and sharks already have 2 undersized LW tweeters with upside.

I think Grier is also fine with skill, but if we didn’t already have Eklund Bordeleau Guschin Kostin and Musty in the near future….. And who pays a third for someone that is gonna get waived when we are first on the priority?

I don’t think they waive him. I think they find someone to trade for him. So if you want him then you have to offer something. Does MG want him?

We still need forwards. You don’t have 13 solid NHL forwards yet.

Sharks needs:

Top 2 line center (hopefully fixed by winning the lottery- smith and celebrini)
2 top pairing dman
3/4 line forwards. Assuming Eklund, zetterlund, musty, and bordeleau are top 6 wingers.

That top pairing d is a huge hole.

Last night Ferraro and Burroughs as top pair is bad.

Ferraro and Muk are your middle pair.
Pick two of the young ones for you bottom ( Thurn, Addison, Emerson, or Thompson).

When you move everyone up, then it goes badly.

Sharks have plenty of middle six and bottom six forwards either in the NHL or progressing in the minors what they need is an entire first line. And you’re right they also need a top pair D. Also need a legit starting goaltender, I like Blackwood as a 1B but I don’t think he’s a 1a or an unquestioned starter. So, in essence the sharks are missing is a starting six.

I think Will Smith is a 1C in time. You might be right about have the 1st line wingers if you don’t think Eklund and musty will pan out there. I have a feeling we aren’t good next year either and have a nice high 1st and 2nd round pick to add to the mix along with Vegas’s 1st. Heck we might have Pitt’s too if it is top 10 this year.

So the answer to does MG want him and I think its a no, and definitely not for a third. I foresee an offseason where we go for types that are hard to play against because we already have too many players of Robertsons ilk in the line up. Whether its Bordeleau Eklund or granny as a small forward, or zadina (who I assume has earned his next contract with us) and a bunch of UFAs who don’t play that style. We just aren’t a good fit for a small LW at the moment. Then add in Kostin and Zetterlund and there is only one spot in the top nine open for a winger who I think will be a big mean UFA and then a center. Robertson is neither.
