Wouldn’t you just be better off with Hague and Kolesar vs what Pacioretty is now and Cole?

Duhaime>Kolesar. Hague becomes expensive as 3LD with that Hanifin contract. They emptied the draft capital this deadline, if they are able to get a 2nd for him that would be a win. Whitecloud him is going nowhere. Cole would be old, I think it would be fine on a 1yr deal at 1.5.

Pacioretty I do agree is a big risk. But I feel like this is the best option if they want another very good winger that could easily score if healthy for cheap.

I think they value Stephenson higher than Marchessault. He’s younger and is a monster defensively while he can produce. It’s cool having the Eichel’s Stone’s Hertl’s, but you need someone who can play 2way also.

Also doubt they went spending 2 firsts to replace Stephenson with a player worst defensively and injury prone.

I feel like they did good this deadline, smart job by the front office. Replace Martinez with Hanifin ( had to trade for him to have him for the next years because he would have signed that extension with the east team ) and Herl. Steal at 6.75M. Don’t like the Mantha add, waste of pick. He’s probably going to be a healthy scratch in the playoffs

No thanks on Cole. The 2 purposes to trading away a dman is to clear cap and to play Korczak the kid belongs in the NHL he's just buried by circumstance in the AHL and here you've fed him to the sharks (literally he's not waivers exempt next year).

Patches won't return, since his comments after his departure I don't think either him or the Knights org is interested in a reunion ever.

I do believe Hertl sealed Stephenson's fate and he won't return, whether Marchessault is resigned or not. At that point they're better off signing an actual winger since they're not weak down the middle.
