Interesting pieces if you want Buch this summer

Created by: mokumboi
Team: 2024-25 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 3, 2024
Published: Apr. 3, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
These are not full packages or trade proposals. They're a list of things that could interest the Blues in a deal for Buch, retained or not. And yes, I'm fully aware a handful of these guys wouldn't be considered as Buch bait. Not really relevant... this is what the Blues would want, not what they think you'd give up willingly. I did leave another handful of young Dmen off the list, but a few real peaches made the cut. Because I said so.

I definitely could have included other teams, but skipped them for various reasons. If you want your team added to the list, just holler and I'll add them. Maybe. Depends on the team.

First of all, read the description. Secondly, Buch would instantly your best winger and second best forward walking in the door. He's a complete top line player.

Not best and sorry didn't read description. Makes more sense with description, would be open to right package

1 - Heh. And who is that better winger?

2 - Happens to the best of us.

3 - Well, you definitely have the ammo to do it. Probably more than anyone else. I'm just kinda skeptical that Buffalo would really move for him, despite the Seravallis and whatnot. What package seems in the neighborhood to you?

Only piece in that list that Flyers would move is Laughton. Bonk is absolutely a non starter and Frost is currently their only young center. The firsts this year are likely going to be kept in a attempt to package them with a prospect to move up in the draft.

I wouldn’t mind returns from Detroit or Philly.

DET: 2024 1st + Wallinder
PHI: 2024 1st (FLA) + Bonk

Bonk is untouchable at this point.

I still think kane is better, he is a ppg and 18 goals in 30 something games and in a year or so of more development I think ray is there too. Don't get me wrong buch Is awesome and exactly the piece they need. Let's also be real we are all bias towards our players. Im sure buch/ray/kane realistic is the same level and you lean blues and I lean wings.

I'd be good with extention either of these packages based on the players you listed

If you read the description, why are you stuck on considering what the other teams would do? Again, these are not trades. It's a list of main pieces (and some complimentary pieces sprinkled in) that Army would want.

And again, we are talking about a player who is not available, not on the block, that they want to extend. Somebody would need to compel Army to want to give him up.

Kane is much more a one way player. If you like that, okay, but I'd much rather have a PPG guy who plays 200 ft. Raymond is great, but like you said he's not quite there yet. I said the second he walks in the door, a year or whatever from now is a different discussion. Besides, Buch has much tougher usage.

And saying a Blues player is something good is not inherently bias. People tend to value various player traits differently - if anything, being a Blues fan has conditioned me to favor 200 ft play and the little details more. But I'm quite capable of weighing things without favoritism and I criticize the Blues harshly all the time. Just not so often here, because that's not really what this site is for.

I don't think the first package works. The second one could, but it could also be beaten.

I hear you, I guess not watching as many Blues games I wouldn't know about his 200 foot game, does he also play physical?

What if we added Anton to the 2nd package

He picks and chooses when to get physical, he's not always in that mode. But yes, he has it in his bag.

I don't think spreading value with more pieces is gonna work. Could be wrong about that... but probably not. I suppose it depends on what they think of Johansson and Berggren, which I won't pretend to know.

Why are you stuck on thinking Army would even suggest Nikishin or Necas? It's not happening. It's never happening. You didn't bother asking for that type of player or prospect from any other team, so why are you asking for it from Carolina?

I'm guessing the answer is because you didn't actually realize the value of either of those two lol.

Well, sorry to say, you super mega guess wrong. I suppose that's what happens when you resort to guessing.

Instead of debating what Army would ask for, I'll just ask. What do you suppose Army would ask for?

And please, don't make me repeat that Buch is not like Guentzel or whomever, not openly on the block, so on and so forth. We are talking about a hypothetical situation in which the Canes come calling for Buch, who Army does not want to part with (which is the only real to life part of this thought exercise to consider in your answer).

Nah bud, I'm guessing I'm right. You put Nikishin and Necas on a wish list with a bunch of guys they're way more valuable than.

Why didn't you include Raymond/Edvinsson from Detroit? Why didn't you include Michkov/Drysdale from Philly? Why not Power/Cozens from Buffalo?

Because you had no idea WTF you were talking about lol.

Wow. Never mind that I've repeatedly called Nikishin the #1 D prospect in the whole league for more than a year AND that I've seen him play live in Russia. Never mind that I've repeatedly said the Canes are not trading him or Necas for Buch.

And yeah, I guess also never mind that you failed to even attempt answering my simple query about who you imagine Army would want because you were far too busy flailing for schoolboy taunts.

Good luck with all that "guessing", bud.

Nevermind that you included those two on a wish list with a bunch of players who are middle 6ers and 2nd pairing D at best. tears of joy

Not a wish list. Not packages. I feel like that has been well established, man.
