That's a good start. For their role on the team, Greenway would be a better fit than rosen (4th line checking and pk).

Rosen is a very good 2 way player, I agree Greenway probably fits the role better. But am trying to roll some offense on all 4 lines.

Vancouver isn't giving that much up for a 3rd liner

I like Greenway, but young players cashing in is likely going to push him out in the future.

Rosen is still a good ways away.

Just like they wouldn't trade Mitts, yes I doubt it happens cause Donnie beat the table for him. But who knows what changes are coming this offseason, even just changing Assistant Coaches could change player philosophy on what you want on the ice.

It’s not just that Donnie wanted him,
he’s also played pretty darn good for us
Greenway getting traded would be a shocker

He's been good on the PK, IMO it's time to see what we have in a few players and he's overpaid to be on the 4th line.

Maybe we’re talking about 2 different things here?

If this is just what YOU wanna see happen, that’s fine
I just don’t think it’s realistic AT ALL that we move Greenway

This whole site is basically about unrealistic stuff, and yes it's something I would do. And I don't know how realistic it is, it's the Sabres and it was a surprise with Mitts.

Realistic stuff is more “fun” to talk about imo
And Mitts was a surprise, until it came out that Adams didn’t wanna give him the big long contract he was demanding
Then it made perfect sense

It made sense really, maybe if Adams had approached him 4 or 5 months earlier he wouldn't have. Adams did it to himself and now looks to have to find a 3C.

It’s entirely possible we already have our 3C
Krebs, Kulich, Savoie- all talented players

Just might, but none have proven they can do it or will be ready to do it soon. And with Rochester in a playoff run we probably don't see Kulich at all to get any hint on him being ready.

Idk what u mean by “soon”
But Krebs or Kulich have the ability to be our 3C for next season & beyond
Probably not Savoie yet, but he is killing it in Juniors & it’s also possible that he looks so good in Camp that we give him a shot at it

Not something I’m all that worried about

So we Hope we have a 3C on our roster. Having Hope a player will become something has killed this Organization over the Years. I really like Kulich, but he's still a ? mark to play C in the NHL.

It’s more than “having hope” to PROJECT guys who are drafted highly- and looked good- since their draft year, will develop into good players for us
And like i pointed out, it’s not just ONE shot we have at finding a 3C, we have THREE guys that all project to be top6 quality

U can be pessimistic if u want, but I’m just not that miserable as a person

It has nothing to do with being miserable, just fact. We don't know if any will play C in the NHL. Ostlund might be the best one of all of them at C.

If u wanna be like that….
we don’t KNOW anything moving forward
There’s no crystal ball

Maybe Dahlin will revert & suck?
Maybe Power never becomes a stud?
Maybe Tage is really just a 2C ?
Etc etc etc

AGAIN…. when u have THREE guys who have been highly drafted & playing well, it not a “we hope” situation
It’s much more reasonable that AT LEAST one of the 3 works out- especially since you’re talking about the 3C and they ALL project as top6 guys

It’s a loser mentality you’ve got going on dude
Enjoy your misery
I don’t agree with you & never will

Loser Mentality, because I want my team to be better and they have the pieces to be better but just sit on there hands and run it back. I don't think wanting to know I have a sure fire 3C on my Team is a loser Mentality. Yes I am sick of waiting, you can't just always Hope these players fit what you Need. Sometimes you need to go and find it. Hope is all fine and Dandy, but there comes a point where Hope is Bullsh!t if your not willing to do the things needed.

The thing NEEDED are to continue to develop the kids & develop all the young talent we have
Idc that you’re sick of waiting and neither does Adams
They aren’t gonna GMTM this thing
U might wanna come to terms with that,
bc we aren’t gonna trade Kulich for some crappy Vet 3C that MIGHT make u feel better

And we aren’t gonna “weaponize our Cap space” to get mid round picks when our prospect pool is already pretty damn full

You’re really gonna have to realize that YOUR IDEAS simply aren’t they way the Sabres are going
31 other teams to cheer for if u don’t like it
That beats complaining ALL day, EVERY day, to a bunch of strangers on the internet
But u live out your golden years however u like dude

My poop is done, so I’m done w this nonsense convo

I actually think I have a better reality of the situation then you seem to be able to comprehend. Especially on this site. It's funny you keep telling me your finished with the conversation on almost every blog I answer here. But you always seem to be here trying to argue with me! Dude you don't matter, I obviously don't care about your Hockey takes but will answer you cause your takes make me Laugh.
