Welcome back after your long hiatus!

This is a pretty good idea of what our best possible off-season would look like: draft Levshunov, sign Gauthier, land a productive free-agent forward. But I think that you have a lot of the players in the wrong places:

Zegras -- Carlsson -- Terry, Vatrano -- McTavish -- Marchessault (more on him below), Vatrano -- Gauthier -- Strome is how I would line them up. And Mintyukov shouldn't play on his off side.

I'm a little dubious about Marchessault. If we're going to invest heavily in a free agent, I'd like it to be someone a little younger.

Corey Schueneman for San Diego is a sly touch.

Go Ducks! rock on

Thank you sir! I’m not sure how you knew I’ve been gone for so long (I’m assuming the website tells you), but I haven’t posted an armchair GM team in years.

Me and my buddy were talking about potential landing spots for Jonathan Marchessault and I said “I really think he should sign a deal with the Anaheim Ducks”. I wanted to build this team to see how it would look and honestly I quite love it for them. I think contending teams will have trouble paying Marchessault a high AAV unless he were to take a slight below market discount.

However, Marchessault can afford to collect a $$ bag for 2 or 3 years with a bottom feeder team on the come up. I think he could be exactly what they need. Plus I thought Matt Roy could provide some stability to that right side for years to come. The notable signings were obviously Marchessault, Roy, Lafferty. All 3 don’t have to travel far, they get paid their $$ bags, provide a “winning” dynamic to the team. All 3 are playing notable roles for contending teams currently (Lafferty meh).

I’m not a Ducks fan but this team has some potential to make some noise this offseason. They can make some good noise as soon as next season if they play their cards right. Then Levshunon can take a year or 2 to develop, you have a top 4 of Mint, Zellweger, Roy, Levshunov. This is just assuming they let Fowler walk in 2 years or trade him.
