Don't expect him to sign until around July, it doesn't make sense for the Habs to burn a year off his ELC for 3 games. He will likely be signed shortly after the NHL calendar flips to the 2024-25 season on July 1st. He will then attend rookie camp in the summer and then the main camp in the fall

False. NCAA players expect to have that 1st year burnt, especially highly touted prospects.
Risk of not burning off the year is that he refuses to sign and turns free agent later on. He will sign this weekend.

I said "don't expect" not that he won't (which btw, he did sign). I was also just saying that it doesn't make sense from the Habs standpoint with 3 games to go. I was just trying to manage expectations
