I remembered that afterwards, but I dont see what the point of going back is.

87.5 and next season should be the expected norm since we are past the trade deadline.

Take out the 2nd and Buium/Bobby Eyebrows. If the Blues deal Buch, there's no need to complicate it by overpaying for tacked on meh. That 2nd can do far more trading us up this summer than those two players can provide.

Fair enough. Wasn't sure that Detroit would go for something like 14th OA and Wallinder for Buch. It feels like a fair price to me though. Value wasn't my main concern as much as the potential concept.

Keeping both seconds would lets probably grab one of those first list defenders. I have a feeling that Z. Buium is going to be the one we have a chance to trade up for. Maybe Yakemchuk, but I could see Buffalo just grabbing him.

I honestly don't know what Yzerman would think of 1st + Wallinder.

But yeah, I get the feeling we trade up, but not quite far enough for Dickinson, and Buium is the very nice consolation prize.

I don't see us saying Buchnevich even though he would make this team better. His next contract is going to be big and take him into the back 9 of his career, not someone a team that's rebuilding/ trying to come out of rebuild probably looks to spend premium assets on.

I'd switch the '24 1st to a '25 1st.

Red Wings will likely be drafting 14th overall this year.

I honestly don't think he thinks about it at all. Doesn't really make sense for us. Wallinder is one of our better defensive prospects, I think he makes the jump at some point next season if we get struck with injuries or else 25/26. That first would ideally grab us a player that would be entering his prime when Buch is declining.

The Blues would not want that at all. They want to get into this year's top 6-8. With two lottery 1sts, their chances of doing so once would be great. And their chances at doing so twice would not be out of the question at all.

I don't think Detroit would do it anyway.

It's foolish really.

Reeks of desperation.
