What part of "Hedman will be 34" wasn't clear?

Hedman is like Lidstrom and can play until he’s almost 40 the guy’s a beast

Newly graduated Edvinsson is going to be a staple on Detroit's blue line. One year of Hedman (or 2-4 depending on his next contract/willingness to keep playing) is terrible asset management, not to mention adding in a mid round 1st and Burgers.

Hednan is still playing 24:47 PPG defenseman who's still an excellent skater the NHLPA voted toughest to play against in his own end. Yzerman loves.

Hedman got 2-4 more years as a top pairing guy. Edvinsson looking to have 10-15.

Think I’ll take Edvinsson.

Talking to RazorSeider53 will get you no where, he thinks Hedman is garbage because he's 34 🤷‍♂️
when guys have played to almost 40 at a high level and Hedman is only playing 25 minutes a night at 34

You might ,but your not Steve Yzerman who may think 4 years of Hedman helping younger guys learn how to be champions is worth it

“We want our future 2nd and 3rd pairing guys to learn from a champion, so we traded our future top pairing guy to get him.”

Makes sense. Sounds like an Yzerman move for sure.

Forget how they eventually turned out but look at the McDonagh trade (it was actually 2 trades (according to Yzerman))Namestnikov for Milker and McDonagh for the rest. TB Thought Hijek and Howden were going to be really good at the time. This could be that thinking for him. Again I'm not saying he should, but

The best you could come up with was a comparison to the McDonagh trade?

Yikes...
