I like Nick Roy, But I think that Vegas will be desperate to unload that contract, so there’s no reason to give them anything good. Rosen or better, In particular is an overpay. Make it Rousek and they probably still do it.

There’s also no reason to buy out Greenway. Vancouver fans would give their left arm for him. Just look back at all the AGM‘s from earlier this year.

you realize there are 30 other teams who also might want roy right?

its not just take my offer or you go to cap jail. youd have to outbid teams.

the cap is going to be 87.5 million (or higher after the sale of the coyotes) so no need to buy out greenway, not that there ever was one.

you offer that to UPL and hes going to arbitration and you'll drive him away like we did ullmark.

I see Rosen as having low first round pick value, so I think it’s about right. Roy is a perfect fit for what the Sabres need

The Sabres can certainly use a good two way forward, but they are desperate for size and physical play too, for me it's to the point that every addition needs to be evaluated for those traits, and if they are missing, it should be a pass. So I'm at hard no until those other areas are addressed.

i sure hope we dont go that route.

we missed the playoffs because we couldn't score, especially on the power play. not because we didnt hit enough.

Both issues are worth addressing. Jack Quinn missing more than half the season is a big reason why the power-play was terrible. Also, firing Matt Ellis would probably help the power play a lot. I think there’s a way you can improve in both areas and guarantee this team is a playoff team next year.

Sure, other teams are going to be interested in him too. But they are also hopefully not stupid. They should know Vegas has no options to relieve their salary problems without taking the bad end of a trade, Or taking costly buyouts. Not to mention, most of the league is in salary cap trouble, so very few teams actually are fair suitors to take on money like that.

Not just that. He’s at 3 million. We’re not on a hurry to get rid of that contract
