If Granny plays like this next year he'll get us a First + very easily.

Great post title! I hope the Sharks get to Cele-brate.

Good ideas.

I'd rather keep Sturm, but we'll see what he wants to do as his contract gets close to expiring.

Giving up those two 3rd rounders to Vegas was crazy.

That's possible if a team is desperate depending on the 2026 UFA market. I think his 5m AAV is a bit rich to take on as he slots in as a middle 6 center for a contender. We might be able to pull off a 1st if we were able to retain, but I wouldn't be surprised if we can get away with a 2nd or 3rd + prospects. Maybe we can do a 1st + bad contract + prospect

I mean he has 2nd line production on a good team, but on the worst offensive team in like decades. Look at who got 1sts at last deadline, He's outperforming many of them.

It only takes a 5th-6th rounder to have a 3rd party retain, plus teams will have more cap space with the cap going up. If he plays as well, than a 3rd + prospects would be very disappointing

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely want a 1st round pick for him. If a team retains and we give them a 5th, no problem. Easy peasy. But, I think if we attach an underperforming prospect like Weisblatt or Coe it could make sense to get the 1st without having to pay a 3rd team.

That would be ideal, especially since Cardwell has the grit and physicality of Weisblatt + the offense we expected from Coe, so losing either of those guys wouldn't be a huge deal
