Sharks decline this trade. I can't see Couture being shipped off unless its a deal that has little to no retainment.

I can see Duclair fetching a 2nd pick at most. Probably will see him get traded for a 3rd and B/C prospect. Not too familiar with the Bruins prospect pool but I’d imagine if there’s a solid young bottom 6er, the sharks would take him.

LTIR Loophole
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pens1991</b></div><div>Yeah I truthfully don't know what players on the sharks think about their future (mainly Hertl and Couture). They're both over the 30 mark and I just can't see either wanting to stick around for a rebuild, mostly Couture.
I'd kind of disagree on 2nd for Duclair, specially with no retention. I understand his numbers are down this year because the team isn't exactly great, but if i'm a GM i'm looking at his performance this year, his achilles last year and probably not doing a 2nd.</div></div>
Since we wouldn't be trading Couture or Labanc that opens up the retention spot for Duclair leading to a 2nd. For that extra offensive firepower, teams would be happy to have a player of Duclair caliber and playoff experience. You add players that put you over the hump.

The only other defenseman i can see being traded is MacDonald even though he's playing 4th line minutes. The rest are on multi-year contracts that I don't see being moved. I'd keep all young defensemen like Addison, Emberson, and Okhotiuk.

Sharks likely decline as we can get a better offer for a 2nd round pick for Duclair. I don't think we'll end up trading Labanc since his contract is unmovable compared to his skillset. Just not worth a 3rd/4th round pick. I can't see the sharks partin ways with Couture unless he's adamant for a trade this year.

He has so much potential. Just isn't as physically demanding as Okhotiyuk. I'm sure there's a market for him the way there was a market for Middleton and Megna

Roster Moves before the New Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CuyahogaKid</b></div><div>For me, Ferraro is really the guy I’d want. I love his game, and I think he fits in to most team’s top four. Great locker room guy, physical, on a decent contract. I think the offer I presented for both is a low ball offer to be honest, I would probably need to part with a first round level asset to make it happen if Ferraro with term is coming this way.
I’d be curious to know how Sharks fans value him.
Strum was just another player I wanted because of the face offs and defensive abilities.</div></div>
Ferraro is still young and is a WORKHORSE. He's deceptive with his skating and agility all while he can still rough around forwards. His hockey IQ isn't top notch and doesn't have much effect to his offense other than joining the rush.

Top 16 Mock draft with lottery
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>Agree! Celebrini fills 2 needs C and scoring.
Eiserman fills 1 Scoring
Levshunov fills 3 Bigger RD, PP QB and top pair RD.
As long as we are dead last we should have a shot at 1 of these 3
My only issue with Eiserman is LW inst a big need, sharks have Eklund, Musty, Gushin, & Bordeleau already. All who have the potential to be top 6/ middle 6 wings.
C we have Hertl 30, & Couture 34 as top 6 options with Bystedt and Lund who looks like bottom 6 maybe middle 6 options.
And while Smith is a C he is better suited to be a RW where he is allowed to utilize his offensive skill better.</div></div>
I agree, Levshunov is the bigger need, but I see Eiserman's ceiling being higher. I think when we draft that high we go based on BPA. Then with our next 3 picks we have the luxury to go by position

I guess we could aim for a top prospect flip then with Guschin included in that trade since he's more NHL ready.

I like Leonard's game a lot, but I don't see us giving up Eklund for him. Perhaps we would give up another top 6 player that you can re-sign like Duclair/Barabanov and our early 2nd round pick this year. I assume you want some firepower while Ovi is still around rather than waiting for Leonard for another 2 years.

Can't see the sharks parting ways with Sturm unless it's a spectacular deal like a B prospect and a high draft pick. He's a leader in the locker room with stanley cup experience, a great penalty killer, extreme work effort, and is 2nd in the league in FO%. He's perfect for the playoffs.
I do get a good chuckle that Jost is a part of a Sturm trade again.

Okhotiuk also seems to be carrying an injury, and Quinn said that Emberson could play NHL minutes.
If Simek is placed on waivers no one claims him almost certainly. It's also questionable whether anyone claims Knyzhov because of his 2 year deal despite the NHL experience.
I also don't think Gawanke will make the roster and will pass through waivers.</div></div>
Kind of cool to look back at this. Lindbolm to the Cuda with Gawanke. MacDonald on IR.

Sheng Peng (reporter for the sharks) talked with Quinn and said it's looking bleak for Couture to join them for opening night.
I don't think MacD makes the team either and is put on waivers. Bords stays on until Couture is back. I'm not 100% sure on Burroughs, I guess you can replace him with Knyzhov, but it's tough to figure out who would you rather place on waivers between Knyzhov, Burroughs, Simek (when healthy), and Emberson.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pavelski_tip_in</b></div><div>Roster is too big. 23 is the max.

You're forgetting Kyle Burroughs. He'll make the team almost surely.

Too early to tell with one game from Bords. During the rookie faceofff they looked good. Bords had 2 goals in the 2nd game and Eklund got a few points in the first. Clearly a step above the rest, but we'll see how they do with the preseason games. It's more likely Eklund starts with the Sharks than Bords. Just dependent if they can fill the 3C spot with Couture out.

I don't see him getting scratched to be honest. He'll be on a thin ice, but i can imagine that Grier would like him to get some PP time to gain some credibility for a possible trade. Also, Labanc must know he's in a contract year and if he doesn't step it up he's not getting paid nearly the same especially in the prime age of his career
