2024 Mock Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>I think 2025 has potential to have 3-4 guys at top that would go #1 if they were in 2024 (much like Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson would have all probably gone #1 if they were in 2022). It may one of the better drafts. If I had to guess…
1. Hagens
2. Hensler
3. McQueen
4. Celebrini
5. Misa
6. Levshunov
Then Eiserman, Demidov, etc</div></div>
What if we added in Carlsson, Bedard, and Fantilli to that list?

Couture's contract is up until 2028. We need as much cap flexibility and leadership to get young guns onboard.

Ok add Rempe then instead of Berard. And change it to a 4th rounder to sweeten the deal.</div></div>
I think the sharks will find better offers elsewhere. Rempe is huge but doesn't produce even in the AHL.

Kakko is still a project at this point and you don't trade valuable players just to have him included. We took a project player like Zadina and not much has come with it.

The 2 1st round picks for Lucius and 2024 is interesting. But, having to retain is an absolute no-go.

No reason to burn a lottery win on this sorry lot.
(I don't think 2024 will be all that bad of a year...maybe not a year to win lottery, but still plenty of names in that top-15 or 18)</div></div>
What are your thoughts on Hagens vs. Celebrini if you were to pick a player 1OA?

Makes sense to me. I wonder then who is left looking for a goalie in the trade market other than New Jersey?

Other than the crazy amount of picks. The sharks come out much worse as this extends the rebuild by another 3-5 years.

Kaapo
Can't see us trading for Kappo. I don't think Quinn and him will see eye to eye based on his early development. Trading a top 6 winger and a heart & soul player for an underperforming Kappo isn't worth it to derail the sharks rebuild by hopeful acceleration.

Yep. Only reason I really use the Athletic nowadays is to read up on Scott Wheeler & Corey Pronman's prospect rankings

Plus, The Athletic is the Athletic.</div></div>
Out of curiosity, do you think Berggren has a spot on the roster for next year? I know that Raymond & Seider are gonna get paid but i guess it comes down to Perron & Sprong re-signing.

Read the Athletic's Deadline article mentioning every team's need and for Detroit they labeled that a defensively responsible forward is the #1 need. Then I assumed that there's no way the red wings would trade for a rental so with Sturm's additional year, it could be enough.
