Don't really have to trade Couts.

Appleton is ok.

Chaz Lucius is a great name.

Stanley is a road pylon.

Very late 1st.

Doesn't move the needle for me. 😬

But it's the 3 1/2 years of retention which kills it.

We're already retaining on Burns and Karlsson.

The 2 1st round picks for Lucius and 2024 is interesting. But, having to retain is an absolute no-go.

i like couture but his contract length doesnt really fit with what id like to see being done to fill holes (2C) internally. also agree with san jose needing to be very strategic with their last retention spot

Burns has one year left and its not like you have any other bigger contracts to deal with so its only tight for one more year...I get your point though

Couture's contract is up until 2028. We need as much cap flexibility and leadership to get young guns onboard.
