Not trading RHP at that price, hasnt been good offensively this season because he didnt get any opportunities and still great defensively.

A hometown kid with heart at a low cap hit, he is perfect in the bottom-6

idk bout the free agent signings, but the trades are fine, I'd keep RHP for one more year, the odds that 5th becomes something is low enough I'd rather see if RHP for one more year, to see which RHP is the real one, the 14 goals in 34 games one or the 2 goals in 45 games. I think he can be a Paul Byron type of player, who was a solid 3rd/4th liner in Montreal and had a few years as a top 6 forward in which he scored fairly well but even if the 2 goals in 45 games RHP is all he is, then oh well, let him leave as a free agent

There is no place for him. Remember Rem Pitlick? Same story but because he's a hometown kid fans are too protective... he's just a bottom-6 like many others. No offense...

Yesterday, Hughes said that he doesn't want to sign players for too many years because of his prospects. Myers make so much sense because you know that Reinbacher and Mailloux will much probably be on his top 4 in 2-3 years old. Same thing with Adam Henrique...

I'm not against the idea, but the players chosen don't seem like the best options. I'd rather go for Dylan DeMelo or Chris Tanev if they have any interest in coming to Montreal, or even Colin Miller on defense, and up front I like Sprong a lot but he can't play center which would be a nice thing to have, never can have too many centers. Other forwards like Stephenson, Lindholm or cheaper alternatives like Jack Roslovic would make more sense to me, both Henrque and Myers are old and probably want a cup more than anything rn, Montreal isn't the place to go for that rn

I like the thoughts above but have a few comments:

- I don't see Montreal moving out two of their young D in the offseason unless they are part of a more impactful return. I expect the Habs would want to move on from Barron with Mailloux and Reinbacher coming, and Krebs seems like a good candidate as a "change of scenery" trade for both. I don't see them adding a Myers if they plan to continue playing Guhle on the right side. Kovacevic is a good 6/7 who can step in when needed. For now I expect they will keep as much of their D depth as possible until waivers comes into play, or a better trade comes up.
- Henrique seems very much in the Dvorak mold - not flashy but can provide some secondary scoring and solid defensive play. I expect he will want a 2-3 year deal at around that $ figure.
- I expect they will keep RHP around as a depth guy where they are low on F prospects who can make the jump, and are likely to not qualify Ylonen. I tend to view him as a replacement level player at best, but he fills a need for them next year unless they add 2-3 pieces in the offseason.

Hard pass from Buffalo
Krebs is currently slotted in as our 3C now that we traded Mittelstadt
And we already have a 3rd pair RD in Clifton

It just doesn’t make sense for us
