  1. 2024 1st round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
The Blues trade the signing rights to Snuggerud for the 5th overall pick.

Apparently, Montreal had a similar offer last year for Cutter Gauthier and turned it down in favor of drafting Reinbacher. Well, now they need a forward and not a defensive prospect. Snuggerud is better than the forwards that will be available at 5 and with MSL as his coach he could explode in Montreal. I think Snuggeruds ceiling will be capped in St. Louis the same way Kyrous ceiling has been capped. The Blues have such a focus on defensive play that high end offensive players can struggle to reach their peak offensive output here.

The Blues would be trading up to draft Anton Silayev. Silayev won't make it past Arizona (they love drafting their giants) and he would be a massive add for the Blues and form a formidable top pair with Parayko in 1 or 2 years. The Blues already have Neighbours and Kyrou as RW1 and RW2 so Snuggerud would be behind them. I know they could just move Neighbours to LW but they seem determined he stays on the right for now.

Either way, the Blues need defense, Montreal needs offense. Win-Win trade in my mind.

How good pundits are is irrelevant, and nobody told me what to think. You said I was overrating him, but I'm rating him just like everyone who watches all these players does. So maybe the issue isn't everyone overrating him, it's that you're underrating him. He's a very high floor prospect with an elite shot and a well rounded game. A late 1st and a meh Dmen doesn't get a sniff of Snuggerud.

You still don't get it
i said "i think you're overrating him"
This sentence is formed as an opinion not a fact
Maybe i am underrating him, it's possible but why does that upset you so much?
I'm not pushing the fact that you have to like the offer, I'm saying you don't have to react like a whiny little punk about it.
Look at BluesReport18 reply to my original post, that's how a mature human being replies

Wha wha " are you serious"
wha wha "but the pundits say"
wha wha wha

Maybe it's time to have a warm glass of milk and go to bed kid

Habs would rather pick 5th, even at 8th there would be better players available (even if they are D men). Habs would probably be looking more at a Neighbors for 5th swap than a Snuggerud.

Dafuq are you babbling about? The comment you are replying to was written as dry and un-emotional as can be. You are projecting your raging insecurities on to me, and then embarrassing yourself further with all these flailing personal attacks. Ya know, because you're sooooo mature.

Also, I'm 54, genius.

You value Neighbours higher than Snuggerud?

Montreal trades down for Tij Iginla and gets value out of it and that's 100% better than th trade you propose.

Not at all, but adding Neighbors + the Blues 1st is more appealing than Snuggerud for 5th OVA, since we need a couple of young top 6 forwards. We can then use the Blues 1st + another asset like the Jets 1st or a young LHD to move up to select Iginla or Helenius and that is what would be more intriguing than just getting Snuggerud.
