Initial Creation Date: Apr. 17, 2024

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Wish I could include the Necas extension on here. Hawks still have over 10m and 2 retention slots to broker TRD deals. No reason to have a rookie tendy behind that team so went with a proven vet. Korchinski and Murphy struggled as a pairing so went out and got Chatfield who plays with a similar dman in Orlov and likely will have to leave with Carolina needing to sign Jarvis, Guentzel and Skjei. Marchessault seems like a perfect winger for Bedard strong forechecker with good offensive play driving and shooting ability.

I kind of like this roster. Well done! I'd say Carolina matches that offer sheet, but not sure they can. Solid UFA signings. Right sort of extension for Vlasic. And this group is definitely better. Nice job on this!

Seeing as Kyle Davidson plans on making some meaningful transactions this summer, I think that makes it a lot more likely that we see guys like Slaggert, Kaiser, and maybe even Nazar and Korchinski, seeing significant time in the AHL. Whatever happens with them, I don't think any of them will have a roster spot handed to them. There will likely be competition. This definitely addresses some of that, but there might be even more, honestly. Probably not any super high profile FA's, but guys that will give young players a run for their money. I like the idea of Marchessault, and Chatfield a lot. I wouldn't mind bringing Domi back to CHI, too.

Regardless, good job! I'm excited for what they are going to do this summer, now, but I'm also a little worried that KD is feeling too much pressure way too soon. But maybe some of it is just lip service, and honestly, CHI wouldn't have been quite as bad this year if it wasn't for the mountain of injuries they had. We'll see, though. Gonna be an interesting summer and season.

He turns 20 on June 21st. He can play in the AHL next season. Though, if he and the team decide to do so, he could opt to go back to junior as an over-ager for one or two more seasons. But I doubt that happens.

The NHL-CHL player transfer agreement states that prospects drafted from either the OHL, WHL or QMJHL cannot be re-assigned to the AHL until they have either turned 20 years old or played in four seasons.

No worries. You had me worried for a second and I had to look it up. I remember things incorrectly all the time, though. So you aren't alone. haha
