Mtl playoffs 2025-26

Created by: Headhack
Team: 2025-26 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 23, 2024
Published: Apr. 23, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Lacking forward Size for playoffs but D is beef (minus Hutson 😅) sooooo young, too young

Instead of Pageau maybe get a bigger body faceoff/PK specialist

If we draft Forward (Lindstrom,Celebrini,Demidov) wouldn't need to go trade for Holtz IMO as one of these 3 would be ready for NHL 2025-26.

Light on the Devil's trade, but maybe for an extra 2nd + Heineman ? I would see a possibility also of Trading Primeau but another young goalie is probably not what they want even if he's better than What they have. *** (Trade depends if we draft Forward 2023-24)

Maybe much on the Hronek trade but RD are rare.

Matheson traded after 1 year of Hutson teaching, big boy coming back if Utah not competing (maybe add sweetener)

Farrel won't crack the lineup IMO

Kapanen could be in instead of Beck, really high on him

Buyout Gallagher summer 2026 or trade cap dump for space (LTIR ?)

Hutson/Reinbacher/Roy/Dach/Mailloux all under control but will have massive pay jumps.

I think Pageau will be traded before the 25-26 season and it will not involve retention. Perhaps a 'hockey trade' with some salary coming back

Devils decline. They need players now, not picks.

If Hronek was willing to sign for that then the Canucks would’ve had him extended months ago

I get it and what they would need is a veteran D with term and that's not what we have to offer. I would see NJ package Holtz with something for Hronek

Yeah the only way I see the Canucks moving him is if he won’t take anything less than 8M

laugh Filip Hronek is seeking 8x7.5m or 8x8m He's not signing that low-ball offer. If he was willing to sign that cheaply Detroit would've never traded him.

Mathewson < Crouse Arizona/Utah passes.

Steven Stamkos isn't signing on a rebuilding bottom feeder team.

Yeah my bad for Hronek definitely higher.

Matheson is top 10 in D points this year for a 5M contract why is everyone here so low on him, better year than Weegar, Dahlin, Seider. And you think he's worth less than a 40 point winger with size ? I was being nice to Utah.

Stamkos is a good friend of Marty and has nothing to prove anymore with 2 cups, probably promise him 1st line minutes with 1st PP and add 1-2 million extra per year than Tampa. Off course he can still stay there for 4x7M but the idea is not far fetch he could land in Montreal

Granted that Matheson had a career year with 62 points, Prior he's basically been between 20-30 point defenseman, I don't think that Crouse for a Dman is what Salt Lake City would be asking for. Especially for a Dman that's heading for the wrong side of 30.

Hroneks not going to Montreal "if" he left Vancouver (and certainly not for whats been offered). A bottom dweller would probably not interest him when there are so many other good alternatives.
