  5. 2025 2nd round pick (TOR)
  6. 2025 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Marner signs 8 x 11.5M extension with Utah. This trade gives Toronto the ability to trade for depth, which is exactly what they're missing. They also get two good second line players in Crouse and Schmaltz while gaining around $2,853,000 in cap space, which is important for a cap strapped team like the Leafs.

I like it. I think Toronto needs to flip for an elite d man… so this is not the trade but marner needs to be moved

I mean you now have Daniil But and three second round picks (which could easily become a first round pick or two if you add a mid or low round pick to move up). But is a GM's wet dream so I think they see him as pretty valuable. Not sure who they'd go for though

Why wouldn’t Utah just put a top number or overpay on guentzel or Reinhart and keep there assets. Utah more in need of a 8 to 10 million dollar dman to slot everyone else down, but they don’t grow on trees and don’t want to miss spending that money and term.
