I'm not one to run Marner "outta town", but I wouldn't mind the young assets and the additional cap by this trade.

Marner is not the answer to any of Buffalo’s problems, and neither is helping Toronto by giving them better, younger players in exchange for that stupid cap hit. He also has no reason to sign a long-term deal for less money, it’s not like he’s from here.

Toronto’s problem is they spent all of their money on four players, and have to fill-in with average talent that gets paid no money or rely on retained salaries. They have no balance. Why would Buffalo fix their problem by taking it on themselves? I knew somebody would confuse what I said for thinking that the players involved are better than Marner. They are buffalo’s better prospects, or in the case of Samuelsson, younger roster talent that is locked in at a fair price. And if you’re going to make a move with them, Marner isn’t the guy. Plus, I would think his no trade clause says “I don’t want to go to Buffalo.”

Samuelssons contract is worse than marners.

I'd be happy to have this roster. Sorry you disagree
