Initial Creation Date: Apr. 20, 2024

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
FA/RFA/UFA's :
Chisolm - Im probably steep on both term and price, but i am a believer in him. Moves super well for a big dman, with great puck skills. Needs D work but that will come with experience.

Other RFAs: all minor league deals. Walker only one that may get a shot.

UFAs:
Mermis - extra NHL dman
Luchini - extra NHL Fwd
Fischer - great defensive fwd with good offensive upside that can provide depth scoring
Others all likely AHLers

Trades:
Merrill - needs to go, I'd take a bag of pucks for him. ARI is a placeholder, but could also use a cheap depth nhl Dman

Gaudreau - I am not a fan of gaudreau. He was a Evason guy, so I think he needs to go. This is me projecting Evason gets a job with SJ and gets his baby boy back. Clears a little cap space for MN for more flexibility in the offseason.

Gustavsson/Johansson - With fleury resigning for a year, I think billy G needs to capitalize on the value Gus has right now. Johansson was very underwhelming and was invisible for most of the year, he has never really lived up to his potential. Copp would be a great get for MN, big body that can create offense. While I know deal is highly unlikely to happen I think it would be a good fit on both ends.

Beckman - Becky needs a fresh start, i've always been a fan if him but he needs a reset. Zam is a ways out and becky is more ready right now. MN also gets a 3rd in 26 to help with their assets to really go for it in 26 when they should be really competing.

Luchhini, Mermis NHL extras

Marat and Liam make team out of camp. Lambos, Hunt, Heidt, Walker depth players up and down between AHL, NHL.

Despite alot of Detroit fans, Copp is very valuable and is needed more than a third goaltender and a bottom 6 winger.

Yeah, I don't think I'd do it either. But I give him credit for at least thinking and not just going with the typical ACGM of "Here's another bottom 6 forward you don't need for a pick".

My thought was husso is stays. Lyon will not replicate the season he had, and will likely want money. Gus is younger with term and a good contract.

I trust Lyon more than Husso, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter who’s in net if we don’t fix our RHD.

Also, Lyon is still under contract next season.
