Let’s slow down he won’t get $13. Adjust this trade to Lacombe though and I’m game. Luneau is out one and only promising RD prospect. We can throw in Helleson if you need a RD added. Hell I’d throw in the EDM 1st if we were confident in re-signing him

That to me is exactly why Marner wouldn’t ask for it. Nobody, including Mitch thinks he’s Matthews. And AM34 got that on 4 years too. His comparable is much more Nylander, which is $11-$12M on a long term deal

I’m definitely not just blanket out on Marner. If we miss on Stammer/Reinhart, adding Marner without losing a single core piece is totally worth it imo. How realistic that is is another conversation completely. But I’d be on board

Agree that’s the ideal, but odds we don’t land him far outweigh that we do. There’s a very high likelihood he re-signs with Tampa, and even if not he’ll have 20+ teams to choose from that’d want him. There aren’t many top 6 caliber RWs available who would do a 2 year deal to play in ANA
