Carolina might just bite on this. Gives them a genuine top line guy. From the leafs perspective we get a semi-replacement in Necas so the hole isn't too big after mitch departs as well as a 1st to fill in our picks next year. Might be about the best we could hope for.

Easy no from vegas. The cap savings is like you said, minimal. We give up the 2 best players.

Comes out at ~$1.8m saving so not too bad. I'd argue Kampf is a more than serviceable 4C, would adding a couple of mid picks move the needle?

Alternatively, scrapping Roy & Kampf, would you do Hague for Robertson & Timmins (& low pick if needed)?

I think The Hague for Robertson and picks thing might be a thing, but I have a feeling Hill and maybe Kolesar is the options to get Marshy back

You wrapped 4 guys up in about 45% of your cap. There needs to be a rule where it states one guy can make over 10 million in the cap like they have in MLS.

love the comment "Caroline might bite, gives them a genuine top line guy"....as if they dont currently have any top line guys. Leafs fans are so pompous it's insane to me.

And no the canes shouldn't do that deal.
