I think there would be buyers for PLD. Price may not be close to what they paid, but isn’t buyout worthy.

PLD isn't getting bought out, he's likely an overpaid top-6 center, but in a few years it will be fine. Give the guy some capable wingers and his contract wont look so awful, his teammates are a rookie and a guy who has been injured most of the season.

certainly risky, the buyout penalty isnt that bad but if u think u can get him going then obviously 14 years of dead cap would be nice to avoid

I completely disagree, PLD would hit over $4M for multiple years against the cap. That is money that needs to be used to find Kopitars replacement. PLD has played as a replacement for Danault and Kopitar, he has either scored or netted an assist as a positive player both times. He's really not as bad as he was when he started, people just like crapping on the guy. I think he'll be a 60 point player next season, which isn't amazing, but it's about as expected.

PLD will eventually settle in. He's struggling a little like the Canucks Boeser did for a year or two. PLD is ony 25. Still time for him to round into form.
