Ducks are not touching Skinner's contract, instant non-starter

Like @Salzy said, heck no on Skinners contract! You guys gave him that now you keep on enjoying it!

I would demand more than a 1st per year as a start to just take that on if I was Verbeek

That's funny.

Skinner has performed far closer to his contract than gibson has and Anaheim fans on here were turning down 1st round picks for him

That isnt exactly a high bar to be fair, and two wrongs dont make a right

ANA fans on here over the years (myself included) overvalued Gibson relative to his contract for sure. There will always be the "What could we have gotten for him if we did move him" but that can be said for alot of teams with alot of players

Skinner is also due 10M in real money next season (to be fair it then goes to 7M and 5M the last two)

For what its worth I also dont see Skinner waiving for ANA

ANA fan who’s been wanting to trade Gibby for years here. I see no way they take Skinner.

The last year of his deal is the one that makes it a non-starter. All of Leo, Gauthier, McTavish, Mintyukov, Zellweger, Luneau, Colangelo will come off ELCs, and Zegras will also need a new contract.

1 year less and for the ‘24 BUF 1st it’d be worth considering. But it just isn’t worth risking the ability to retain a core piece, and it’ll absolutely become a problem then

Oh I don't think Anaheim should trade for him, just funny to see a ducks fan demanding a 1st for each year of the contract

I don't think they should do it, just funny to see the demand for 3 1sts and then some to take on his contract (he had 82 points in the season that ended 12 months ago)

Yeah I don’t personally agree with that viewpoint. At his full cap hit I see it more as just a non-starter. The BUF 1st rounder is super interesting to me (I love Helenius and see a great Yakemchuk fit for ANA, one of whom should be available at 11OA). I could see it being considered with some retention

What about something like:
BUF: Skinner $2M retained + 11OA
ANA : EDM 1st

Sorry, is your argument that because we have one bad contract already, we should just hoard as my of them as possible?
