PLD sucked on most of his teams during his first season, then he rebounded.

The buyout on PLD is also a lot friendlier since he's less than 25, and there are a alot less signing bonuses. This results in 1/3 of his salary being on the cap, essentially $1.1M for 14 years + ~$11M bonuses spread over the first 5 years. I could be slightly off on the numbers, but you can look them up.

Which is why I would jump all over that deal if I'm the Flames.

PS: that's without even considering that PLD is paid $2M less, is 5 years younger, and has produced the same numbers over the last 2 years combined.

I'd do it, in fact I'd add something from the Flames. Calgary needs a youngish top 6 center a whole more than they need Huberdeau. I can't see the Kings doing it though.
