Tavares must be signed before doing the trade... else we trade all that and lose him at the end of the year... also 8 years is the max now for a contract

You can only sign Tavares for 7 years and he will get more then $9.5 million try more like 7 years $77 million give or take.

8 years would be for the Islanders to sign him, Any other team it's 7 years unless it's a sign and trade deal.

Contract will obviously be part of the trade talks. Even a sign and trade is possible. Also 10 years is good, because at that same time, Price and Weber come off the books. So you can essentially rebuild, or start a new era etc. But thanks for commenting guy!

What do you not understand about a max of 8 years? What word is too hard for you max? If Montreal signs him next year as a free agent it'll be a max of 7 years and we won't have to give up pacioretty gallagher and 2 firsts. No way he resigns in new york unless they offer him the max.

Yeah ur right about the term of the contract. My bad. But you must be out of your mind to think that they will let him walk in free agency. we will have to trade for him. and u have to give value to get value
