Value sort of makes sense if built on the framework of the Tkachuk deal with obviously lesser assets being the return. Don't know if Marner waives without a big extension agreed upon though. Bertuzzi also gets more in the open market, so does Nedeljkovic (which I wouldn't bite on).

I’ve proposed this exact trade on this website and I think it’s the best value trade for both teams. Seattle needs that high end talent and the leafs need offensive depth as well as right shot defence, and this is a great way to spread that marner money around and address those issues at the same time. The problem lies with Seattle. This is arguably their best forward and their third best defenceman. I think they should go for it though because they’re getting a guy who has almost scored 100 pts twice, which is more than anyone on Seattle has ever scored by a long shot. I know, playoffs, but it just hasn’t worked in Toronto. The guy has the talent and perhaps in a different situation he flourishes. I hope he does, but it has not worked here. I wonder if Seattle would ask for more, just due to how low his value is right now and his cap hit, but in my opinion this is perfect for the leafs.

Don’t like Ned as a back up? Can give Bert more as we still have 5+M under the cap but can’t justify giving him more than Domi

Thank you for the comment and agree 100%. We get a D group looking similar to this and I think we will be ok

I'm not that big on Ned, I would likely try going another direction. If the price is right though why not
