Marner to ottawa

Created by: Oiler3535
Team: 2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: May 8, 2024
Published: May 8, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think Marner waives for an 8x13 extension. As a UFA I think 7x11 is the most he gets, and he's all about the money.

  1. Chychrun, Jakob

  3. 2024 1st round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
I live in the Ottawa Valley and people have been thinking all year Norris will be gone for his injury history. And they HAVE to move chychrun or Chabot. I prefer Chabot as a Leafs fan so am going chychrun here.

Agree with you that Marner waives for a big extension. But I can't see the Leafs wanting the oft injured Norris. He just screws up roster planning and especially for six years. And I like Norris, and when he's plays, is good value for his contract.

If Ottawa is going to pay a winger $11M it's going to be a winger that can put up points AND play a heavy playoff style.
Marner is not that. And $13M is out of the question.

Ottawa can't afford to worry about playoff style. Needs to make them for the first time in 30 years.

Over the last 30 YEARS, including this season:
EDM has made the playoffs 2 times less than OTT, and has won fewer playoff rounds.
TOR has qualified 3 more times than OTT but still managed to win fewer rounds.
EDM holds the longest span without a playoff appearance: 10 seasons.
TOR holds the longest span without a playoff round victory: 17 seasons.
But seriously... nice attempt at throwing shade.

Way to know what exaggeration is. Kudos.
