Andersson is a good defenceman but he's not as valuable as Marner. And Markstrom isn't consistent enough.

Do your own homework. Specifically on this goalie. He's been below average for 3 of the past 4 seasons despite playing behind what many call "one of the best defenses in the west", so is the defence overrated? Or are the goalies bad? Because many goalies have been consistently better than Markstrom in the past 4 seasons.

Calgary declines. The only thing in there of ANY interest to Calgary is Fraser Minten and he's not all that interesting certainly not worth being the main piece in a trade for either Flames player.

Ok maybe they'd take Marner to flip him with 50% retention at the deadline but that's only worth about a late 1st and B+ prospect like Minten. Add your 2024 1st and that might get Markstrom alone if nobody else makes a better offer.

Marner at his full cap hit won't even fetch a late 1st unless a team is absolutely certain they'll be able to extend him at a cap hit they can afford and that's extremely unlikely to happen.
