Why do you think it's an awful trade? Not saying it isn't but say if it was Wright + Larsson + 2025 1st for Marner + a 3rd, what would you hate about it?

I eliminated Borgen, since I don't think SEA will just want to trade away their top RD and someone they are familiar just to end up with a new guy in Liljegren who is similar. I took off Liljegren and Robertson because the Leafs shouldn't be dealing Marner with 3 assets.

Whenever he scores a goal, he's looking at the press box like

4720d970-008c-11ed-b3a5-3ad48e05ae66

Even if he wasn't actually giving them a death stare back then at the draft as he claimed. He does look dazed more than anything though lol.

Yeah, Wright + Larsson + A 1st for Marner + A 3rd is something I'm okay with (even without the picks involved). My issue is adding on Lily and Robbo who are our two best young NHL-caliber trade assets for no good reason, especially when they're cheap

Agreed, I could see both of Robertson and Liljegren getting traded but packaging them with Marner doesn't make sense, especially when the return is a lot worse than what the OP has here. If it had to be Wright+Larsson+ the 1st/two 2nds/an intriguing B-prospect for Marner+Liljegren/Robertson, I wouldn't be opposed to that either. FOr me the return just needs to fall between 3-4 1sts in value + fill important needs. In terms of the ACGM, the OP basically just swapped Liljegren for Borgen and has signed DeBrusk which makes Robertson expendable, but I don't think the Leafs are signing him or even Bertuzzi at that dollar amount.

I would try to package them together + maybe a pick if necessary to get a different RFA defender or someone with some term who is a clear upgrade.
