PHI says no, maybe Koneckny (at 5.5mil for 2 yrs) and a early 2nd AND 6mil in cap space though might be enough....

But PHI doesn;t want a smallish RW who almost all Leaf fans want to get rid of for equal value. (and chances of Marner resigning for a pretty minimal raise in a new city are pretty minimal)

PHI needs C's and a top 4 dman, who aren;t old, and therefore probably not good trade partners.

And I doubt Liljegren takes a 275k raise, or those UFAs signing cheap to a team that annually disappoints, or 2 goalies that have never played 35 games in a season will work and you;'re over the cap anyways

Agreed! But Marner also wouldn’t work well with Tortorella! Marner’s but would be benched for the majority of the season if he let players just skate past him like Pasternak did! Marner does not fit into the Flyers two-way scheme, and Morgan Frost is a center, which is a position we need.

Do you actually watch Marner play? Marner is a Selke-calibre forward. Torts would love him.

We have to many right wings, and I have seen Marner play. I would rather have TK has a two way forward than Marner.

That's fine (and I agree, Center is the bigger need), but calling Marner a player that wouldn't fit into the Flyers two-way scheme is objectively wrong.

I may be wrong, but I’ll never admit it.

It's not only about defense etc, that's the bare minimum for Torts. It's about giving your heart and soul for the team. Torts doesn't like players who doesn't appear to work every single day.

you get rid of the 2nd line player and a middle 6c for an elite first liner, you do it

Travis Konecny has 68 points in 76 games. Marner has 85 points in 69 games. Konecny has had Morgan Frost as his center, and sometimes even Ryan Poehling! Marner plays with either Nylander, Tavares, or Auston Matthews. Each of those guys is an elite caliber player. Even though TK plays with bad players, he continues to put up impressive stats. He is a terrific penalty killer who led the NHL with 6 shorthanded goals. Marner had a shorthanded goal this season. I am not saying Konecny is better than Marner, but he is no second liner. He is a star, who plays both on the Power Play and penalty kill. Morgan Frost is a middle six player though. You are correct there.
