25-26 Beginning of the End of the Retool

Created by: BDHockey
Team: 2025-26 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: May 14, 2024
Published: May 14, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Books don't look too bad. Tried to do this with minimal trades to show the path of internal growth. I do expect some smaller moves though in the next few retool seasons.

Few Notes*
-Kevin Hayes could very well be traded rather than bought out, but by 25-26 he should be off the roster.
-If we draft Adam Jiricek in 2024 he will most likely not be ready by 25-26, he might not even be ready for 26-27. I moreso did it to illustrate what I think could be a very solid middle pair for us.
- Buchnevich probably should be traded if Neighbours continues to grow next seasons. We have lots of depth for our forward position and Buch could be turned into a little bit of value for our defense. I signed him for this ACGM because it can be hard to decide what kind of return he would get.

Since Krug has only eight teams he can traded too, he certainly isn't going to have a poor team with cap on his trade list
He'll just name eight good teams....who probably don't want him anyway, o4 because they have their cap issues.......Tampa, Florida, Canes, Rangers, Dallas, Detroit, Leafs, Buffalo, and the more.
    "Any team" is highly unlikely

Krug submits 15 team no-trade list starting July 1, 2025. So will have more than half the league to trade him to. I'd assume Canadian teams are on the list along with rebuilders like San Jose.

Its a 15 team list. I would assume he blocks out all of the Canadian teams regardless of their competiveness or contract structure. You're right that it still isn't likely that there is a trade to be had, but it certainly becomes way more possible than it currently is.
