Really? I'm very surprised at this. Buch is substantially better than Necas to my eye. What makes you accept this?

Not sure how much Perunovich is worth, but getting Necas probably beats a 1st+3rd which Buchnevich might fetch as a rental. Perhaps he doesn't want them to sign Buch or thinks Necas has the same upside. I'm guessing other Blues fans would disagree with him.

I'd do one for one. I'd personally like to hold onto Scotty P but if it's a scenario where the Canes say no deal UNLESS Scotty P is added, then I'd still take it. Assuming a Necas extension falls in line with the Thomas/Kyrou contracts

poor use of assets for the canes here. buch will be in the getting to old to give big money deal to and soon to be UFA. Necas is a young RFA.

I like Scotty P and especially Buch but the Blues won’t be Cup contenders for a few more years, Buch will be 30 next season and giving him a long term deal might age badly. Perunovich doesn’t have much value but if he stays healthy he’d be worth a 2nd rounder. Necas could be our 2C and move to the wing when Dvorsky is ready. Basically STL needs to get younger and Necas would help, it seems like he’s a turnover machine and inconsistent at times though.

I’d give Necas 6-8 years, $7.5-7.8 mil. Just under Thomas who sets the bar for STL salary-wise.

I'd even give an 8x8 at most.

I'm hesitant on a long term contract after seeing the Huberdeau situation (get big contract before playing a game with new team then underperform)
