Why not? The flames wont be in a playoff spot for the next few years. Conroy could flip Ceci at the deadline for a 3rd.

Because they don't need to trade Andersson, Conroy took less not to trade with Edmonton in the Tanev deal, and not go take on Ceci. Plus Andersson isn't available, and if he was, he would get a 1st and decent prospect(neither of which are in this deal)
