If Yzerman didn't hand out these awful contracts, I would argue that the Wings would be in the playoffs by now.

Look you could be right but I'm also in the camp the the Holl deal is the only deal that was truly awful. At the time of the Copp and Chiarot contracts, the wings were god awful. He wanted to make sure the young core of guys like Seider and Raymond didn't have a losing culture instilled in them so he overpaid for the two of them. Were those contracts ever good? No. But will they impact the wings cup window which looks like it will be open for a long time? Absolutely not lol. Those bad contracts will balance out with ELC's and when Detroits playoff/cup contending window opens (2027ish area), those contracts won't even be there. I'd rather build a consistent cup contender than make the playoffs 1-2 years before they're projected to lol. Gotta think long term.

Kane at 4 years would be something.
Pretty easy no from Winnipeg, you didn't send them anything of value.
5 rookies in the line up would be pretty nuts as well.

I'd like some version of pionk, not sure that's it but it would be a good add.

5 rookies is definitely a bit of a reach lol, but I really wanna see it happen. And I don't really consider Edvinsson and especially Berggren rookies anymore.

Kane at 4 years is just to get him to re-sign. AAV could probably go down if it's that long. Realistically tho, with the way Kane played this past year, I think he can be productive even until he's 40 with sheltered minutes and powerplay deployment. His hockey IQ and vision won't go away anytime soon.

Aldo I kinda just based my winnipeg return on other Winnipeg ACGMs. seems like everyone wants him gone. One I saw was 3rd and 6th for Pionk and a 7th.

Pionk just seemed like an easy target and a nice little stop gap with only one year remaining. Plus he just seems like a solid 2nd pair guy which would be great for edvinsson to play with.

I don't consider Berggren a rookie but Edvinsson still. Looked good for a short time but he has his flaws. Johansson, Mazur, Kasper and Danielson all rookies. Johansson might be the one you forgot about.
I'm not totally opposed to Kane for that term, rather do 3 if he wants more than a 1 or 2 year deal.
I think Pionk gets a second at least. He's still an effective player. I don't see the Jets realistically trading him as they don't have a replacement. Maybe if they sign someone but that's tough there.

I get where you're coming from on all of these aspects. There definitely won't be that many rookies. I actually do kinda doubt Danielson cracks the roster. I think they'll wanna give him a year in GR.

I'd also do 3 years for Kane preferably but if it takes 4 to get it done I think I do it.

Pionk could fetch more, I was just kinda basing it off of like the 5+ ACGM's ive seen where it seems like jets fans just want him gone more than anything

They have a hate on for him since the goal that lost them the series went off of his stick I believe. He's been pretty solid all around and maybe gets asked to do too much. Alot of values on here can be pretty off, not alot of quality posts lately.
Danielson I think for sure starts in Grand Rapids and I actually want Kasper to as well. Kasper as 1C and Danielson work his way up like Kasper did. Kasper started at 4C and worked his way to 2C now.
I could see Mazur cracking the line up though.

Depends what Winnipeg is thinking, they may just want to dump cap so not sure taking Fabbri back works but I'm sure something could get worked

The Jets don't have enough RHD that they can give one away for a forward they don't need.
