New Buch Trade Cause why not

Description
Probably very unlikely and honestly not so sure on the value with the pick swap then how much Seattle values both Kartye and Goyette. I also considered someone like a Dragacievic instead of Kartye but feels like that may be too much of an ask

Just a new idea I don't think I've seen yet. Curious on your thoughts.

Fair? Too much for Buch? Too little?
Trades
1.
STL
  1. Goyette, David
  2. Kartye, Tye
  3. 2024 1st round pick (SEA)
Additional Details:
Goyette and Dvorsky had good chemistry with Sudbury. First round pick swap then a nice complimentary piece in Kartye
SEA
  1. Buchnevich, Pavel
  2. 2024 1st round pick (STL)
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
If Seattle wants to make a big splash, going for Buch could be it if they don't go after Necas (been seeing him linked there)
2.

SEA
  1. Hayes, Kevin

Too much from Seattle. They just keep #8 and their prospect. If they want Bunch they'll call back in July when they can maybe legally discuss an extension with him before a trade

Gotta admit it's an interesting trade for Seattle. Ultimately I just don't see Francis doing it.

I imagine any team acquiring Buch, especially at the draft, would have some intel as to an extension. sure the 'legality' of it is questionable but I feel like that happens all the time anyway.

Still to rich even with a first round pick swap? Go from 8 to 16?

I've just heard they could be looking into adding more firepower and Buch could provide that for sure. I'd like to see Goyette and Dvorsky wear the blue note together after seeing how well they played together with Sudbury... then to get Musty from SJ somehow to complete the entire line lmao

You can't negotiate a contract extension until July 1st and you especially can't talk to another teams player until July 1st either unless you want to be hit with a tampering charge. It pretty much never happens, the league takes tampering pretty seriously, just look at what happened to Arizona a couple years ago for the draft combine thing.

Yeah definitely too rich especially since Seattle is very likely to land a much needed quality defense prospect at #8

True. Could make something happen though without the pick swap. Would imagine a Buch extension comes in between 7-8mil at most anyway so a roundabout number to work with for Seattle

He's still a rental trade wise, can't be shopped as anything more than that

Yeah, Seattle adding firepower is the word, for sure. I just think Francis is still reluctant to trade prospects or substantial picks to do it. 8th overall is a little rich, especially, though the picks "swap" lessens it. But with the interesting names coming available on the UFA market, I think he goes that route. Also, just my opinion, it really doesn't seem like Francis is keen on Russian players, even from his time in Carolina.

I like Goyette and Kartye I think Seattle would be willing to trade them but not their 8th overall pick.

Super mega no. Kartye and Goyette are of no interest.
