LA Rebuilds

Created by: DrumMan44
Team: 2017-18 Los Angeles Kings
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 31, 2017
Published: Jul. 31, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
(Not a Kings fan, just curious). 2018 is predicted to be a good draft year. Time for the Kings to cash out and load up on picks.

With a lockout on the horizon, LA sheds salary from good players to free up room for ELC's. The dead wight Gaborik and Brown contracts stay where they are. When ELC contracts come to roost, LA uses its compliance buyout from the lockout to dump them.

Rebuild trades are always tough to gauge, especially when there are a lot of pieces involved. But I think you might be onto something with that Kopi-to-MTL deal. Bergevin loves to swing a big trade and Kopitar would be a huge get for them.

As a Kings fan, I can't see even one of those going down (But who knows). The Kopitar one especially since he has a full no movement. It is pretty interesting to see the Kings have 6 first round picks next year though. haha.

Hoping for a bounce-back year from Kopitar because he really struggled last year (Really being nice in saying that). Also, LA finally has a little cap breathing room this year vs last year (Maybe about $6mil as it stands right now), but Doughty likely in for a massive pay increase (if he even wants to stay) after next season.
