Dump n rebuild
Kopitar will retire a King.
And those returns are way too high for those guys. Toffoli might cost money to get rid of soon.
Muzzin has high value, so maybe something high for him. Pearson for sure a low 2nd or high 3rd at best. Alex Martinez probably fair at a 2nd to a contender who wants a legit Top 4 guy with great experience.

Broken Record History repeats itself Kings Need Scoring
Forbort is paired with Doughty, and Phaneuf is paired with Martinez, but the rest of the lines look okay to me.

What the Kings should've done at the draft
Kings did the right things this summer in my opinion. Needed to hold onto their first pick that high since they drafter Kopitar, and their first 1-round pick of any kind in 5 years. Signed Toffoli and Pearson to manageable deals and shook up their coaching and management, which had grown stale. They wanted to keep Lombardi, but they told him to fire Sutter, which he wouldn't do, so it was what it was.
I like their young defensive prospects of LaDue and Gravel. Either the Kings take the next step or they miss the Playoffs again with these guys getting good experience (Like they gave to Forbort).
Their top 4 defensemen will be the best since Voynov left. I really like Forbort in the top 4 now. Quick will not miss 60 games (Hopefully). Gaborik and Toffoli are hopefully not injured again. Kopitar needs to return to his career average 23 goals a season (Which isn't crazy), instead of the 12 he had this year.

Not awful, but I would go with 1 year instead of 2 for Vanek because I would like the Kings to keep their cap unless something great comes along. I'd rather they don't spend their cap if they don't have to.

Tavares 2018
Well, as for Brown, this is a 2018-2019 speculation, so it may seem crafty, but it is what it is (I can't say he has 5 years left, when we're two years into the future).
Appreciate the feedback. I'm in the minority, but I do think the Kings are one forward away from being in the mix again. I don't think there are that many strong teams in the league (And the west is much weaker than it has been traditionally).
Kings possession and Corsi numbers are pretty much where they've always been (Going on like 6 years now), they just can't score (Just like in 2012 before they got Carter and made a run and just like 2014 before they got Gaborik and made a run). They just needed one other 20 goal scorer last year.

I don't think the Kings are as far off as people think. They were decimated with injury last year, and the year before their d-core was hurt too.
Healthy top 4 defense this year. Theoretically healthy Quick who won't miss 60 games. New coach and first full off-season with Kopitar as captain (To adjust).
Still have 1-2 centers in Kopitar and Carter (Carter was on a legit MVP pace last year for the first half of the season). Top 4 defenders are solid (With hopefully motivated Doughty who had a terrible season last year). Quick in net with decent backup. New coach to shake things up.
The Kings lost a record number of games last year by 1 goal. They couldn't score, so I see the idea of trying to get someone who can score. Just a lot to trade.

I don't understand the Gaborik LTIR. He had surgery along with Martinez, so they both should be good to go (Both repaired lingering issues). I fully anticipate a Gaborik - Kopitar rebound year (Or maybe I fully HOPE). Winger will get tweaked with, but Cammaleri and Gaborik have some skill if they can stay healthy (But no force). Pearson-Carter-Toffoli always have game-breaker potential, but we'll see.
But as is, that's pretty close to what I think it will be. They like grit more than skill though, so easily could see Andreoff weaseling his way into the lineup over Brodzinsky or other people.
Defensive Top 4 is most solid it has been since Voynov left, so that's reassuring to me.

I don't know how I truly feel about this trade, but my instinct is that it's really not that bad from LA's perspective. I don't think Columbus does that deal, but I would think LA would want to include a contingent 1st round draft pick (or more) for whether or not Cam Atkinson resigns with LA in a year. If LA ends up getting just Seth Jones and some 2nd round picks for Doughty, that would be insanely bad. But Seth Jones at a decent cap hit, and then Cam Atkinson solves a lot of LA's woes.

Fair enough. LA is sort of like that. Wait another year to see if the team gets hot and the dominos fall right.
At this point I really do feel bad for Bruce Boudreau and hope he finds some Playoff success (If LA isn't in it).

Tank Army leaded by Benning, the 76ers way
I could see NYR going for something like that Sedinss trade to be honest. Why not? You either admit that your window is closed and start a rebuild, or you double down and try to get a run or two out of who's left (Lundqvist). Adding both Sedins for a year or two makes sense. Go big on the Swedes.
Add the Sedins and have Vancouver retain salary. Vancouver full tank.

Take a Chance on Vanek
Doesn't really help with the need for speed, but he could be a nice net presence on the PP (Which LA does need). Not too big of a gamble, so could be worth it. I thought Iginla fit in nicely with that role during his limited stint last season.

Doughty is a UFA after next season though. Hoping LA is still competitive and he still wants to stay. But he also had a huge down season last year (Amongst many others). So if LA is going on year 4-5 of missing the Playoffs/being bounced in the 1st, who knows if they'd consider getting some return for Doughty.

Big Baller Buffalo
As a Kings fan, you would not need to give up a 1st round pick for Brown. I actually believe that we would need to give you one (At least). I'm torn because I like Brown, but when you look at LA's woes (lack of scoring), you have to look at the highest cap players, and Brown falls into that, so he in all logic has to be moved for this team to be competitive again. He has many intangibles, and they probably should not have stripped him of the "C", but LA can't score, and he's amongst a group of Kings that fit that mold.

LA Rebuilds
As a Kings fan, I can't see even one of those going down (But who knows). The Kopitar one especially since he has a full no movement. It is pretty interesting to see the Kings have 6 first round picks next year though. haha.
Hoping for a bounce-back year from Kopitar because he really struggled last year (Really being nice in saying that). Also, LA finally has a little cap breathing room this year vs last year (Maybe about $6mil as it stands right now), but Doughty likely in for a massive pay increase (if he even wants to stay) after next season.
