Draisaitl gets more. I personally would say no from Montreal's side.

I don't think Drai gets more but I do think Montreal trade favours the oilers but RNH is the same age just more experienced than danult I could add plekanec as a cap dump for Montreal tho

His Draisaitl contract is in the ballpark, so I'm not sure why you're contesting that. And why do you think the Montreal trade favours the Oilers? Redmond is a career minor-leaguer, while Danault had one "breakout" season which wasn't as good as Nugent-Hopkins' worst season - and RNH played top-level competition all season to give McDavid more "clean air". Only 7 forwards in the league faced stronger competition (% of playing time vs elite) than Nugent-Hopkins did. The ONLY plus for Edmonton here is the cap space - which they have plenty of already. (Until next summer, anyhow.)

I take this trade. In term of absolute playing capability value, this trade clearly favors Edmonton. Though if you factor in our mutual cap needs, this can work out neatly. Personally, I much prefer replacing Danault with Gallagher, more for cap reasons and to mitigate center depth woes. Still, I can live with this trade if I see it on my phone someday.

I disagree with this statement. Obviously if you just look at where he's ended up, it's the AHL. But look at his possession metrics, at the bare minimum. He's better than a lot of 6th D in the league. Our team is just drowned in 5D talent, so there's no room for him. We also banished any young player who makes the slightest mistake, so there's that. (I'm not exaggerating. Redmond has a solid game but makes one bad pass, and was a healthy scratch the next game. This cycle continued briefly with Barberio, Pateryn, and Redmond until each one was either traded, claimed off waivers, or sent to the AHL).
