Guhle is untouchable. Nylander might be open for trade I'm not really sure. But sabres are definitely not trading both for two guaranteed years of Duchene

What else could BUF offer that would be a fit on defense? Makes me wonder how realistic this rumor is.

idk how "untouchable" he really is, your d are risto (22) McCabe (23) bogo (27) Antipin (24) beaulieu (24) scandella (27) and gorges (100) I don't want to see him traded but its a young core if they play well together and botterill has confidence in this group I wouldn't mind him being packaged to get a top 6 forward, my question is how much better is Duchene than kane? because if you get Duchene you cant afford to pay kane next year and kane is free to resign Duchene costs you essentially kane on top of whatever it takes to trade for him

Sabres would not give up Nylander for Duchene, and Colorado would not go for that either. Nylander has not played in the NHL, you never know, could be a Nail Yakupov (I hope not). Brendan Guhle is not untouchable at all, he could definitely be a part of a trade in the near future IF Buffalo was looking to make some trades.

Is Guhle untouchable? We have Scandella for 3 more years, McCabe for more than 2 years, Beaulieu for more than 2 years and Antipin a is left hander who has played a lot of RD. I know Guhle is an exciting prospect but unless we start trading LD where does he fit. Is he better used as a trading chip. I certainly would keep Guhle and use Beaulieu and McCabe for a trade chip but if Guhle and Reinhart/Nylander gets me Duchene and a D prospect(maybe not siemens) would be alright. I just witnessed Pitt win 2 Cups with a lot of avg D, especially this year without Letang. I want to watch a skilled offensive team.

Siemens has the most experience of the D prospects and I feel like he hasn't gotten a fair shake in COL. He's looked solid, if unspectacular if his brief NHL career. He could start right away. Bigras might be available if Lindholm continues to impress. Makar is off limits for this trade and Timmins looks like a player, but might be available if you want to make the trade bigger

His potential is everything that housley wants in a defenseman and he's been quickly developing to the point where he is ready to be a force in the nhl. I'm saying he's untouchable because of how lame the d prospect pool is. Would trade any other defense (besides risto and McCabe obviously) for two guaranteed years of Duchene. Nylander I'm not as high on because we have offensive prospects. Not saying I don't like Nylander because I definitely wanna keep him till he develops fully into his high potential but if trading him means getting a top 6 left wing this year for a playoff push then so be it.
