Good but canucks don't need mark fayne even if other canucks fans or management says otherwise, we're already loaded with "3rd line defenseman" depth.
Otherwise though, this trade works for everyone.

I'd take that if I were Vancouver for sure. If Edmonton didn't win the cup Chiarelli would be so fired. Pretty high risk move for EDM

I like the concept. The Sedins deserve one more shot at the title. Edmonton is a contender, has cap space, and isn't so far from home.

Nugent Hopkins is a pretty good player, though. It's hard to compare across different seasons, because the NHL changes so quickly, but Nugent Hopkns' first five years (https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/n/nugenry01.html) look roughly comparable to Henrik's (https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/s/sedinhe01.html) or Daniel's (https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/s/sedinda01.html), and RNH might have a lot of years left. Of course, the Sedins were late bloomers and really peaked between their eighth and twelfth seasons in the NHL. That isn't typical. But there's little reason to give up on RNH.

If he doesn't fit in Edmonton's lineup, long term, I think they can get someone who does. Even if he is frequently injured, and averages forty-some points a year, most teams would love to add another twenty-something player who gets forty-some points a year.

I think Edmonton throwing in the first round pick probably doesn't happen. But it's more likely that if they trade RNH, it's for a defenseman.

The only way that deal makes sense is if Vancouver includes Tanev. No way the Oilers give up Nuge and a 1st for 1 year of the Sedins. On the Oilers they might up being third line players.

Third line players producing like 2nd liners

If we add Tanev we need more from your end

They could've even produced like 1st liner without Willie desjardin
