Let me know your thoughts on these trades

Description
I know the last offer sheet to a RFA happened in 2013 with Ryan O'Reilly but I do believe that it will happen this year with Andreas Athanasiou. The Detroit Red Wings's players have a total cap hit of 78 million dollars, which is 3 million dollars over the salary cap. The Red Wings have to make a choice. Either trading a player with a big cap hit and resigning Andreas Athanasiou or losing Andreas Athanasiou. Athanasiou had a great year last seasom with 18 goals.( which is really good) He could become a great 2C in Montreal while playing alongside Galchenyuk and Drouin. To convince the Red Wings to give up Athanasiou, we'll have to give up some great picks. The second trade I made could make sense for both teams. I acquired Ryan Nugent Hopkins, from the Edmonton Oilers, in exchange for Michael McCarron, Tomas Plekanec(to do the Oilers a favor, I've retained 50% of his salary) and gave up a late first rounder and a second only to make the Oilers want to make this trade. Ryan Nugent Hopkins was the 3C in Edmonton behind Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. He still put some decent numbers and could be our 1C. I know that Nuge isn't a 1C in the NHL but that would be still better than having Danault or Plekanec as our 1C. On the Oilers side, they get a great 3C who plays great defense against some of the best centers in the league. They also get McCarron, who could become their 3C or 4C and a bunch of draft picks. Please let me know your opinion in the comments.

    More then likely the 2018 NHL draft will be one of the best drafts in recent memory, And Montreal wants to give us a 2018 1st+2nd+3rd for AA RFA rights Detroit does that in a heartbeat and runs with it.

    With Franzen on LTIR, the \Wings cap isn't all that dire. But as Larkingisking suggested a first in the deal might confirm it for Detroit. Oilers might do the trade for one year and long term cap relief. McCarron isn't worth that much in a trade, but will Montrea's first be enough? Maybe.
