Exploit others needs?

Sure the Hawks want a vet Dman, but they would be better off working for next year. Daley hasn't impressed me personally AND the Dman the Hawks would be looking for is a "Stay at Home" Dman and not an offensive Dman. Runblad was an experiment by Bowman that hasn't really worked out, but Columbus is either last or 2nd to last in the league for goals against and shots against. So they'll at least listen to cheap, but playoff experienced players.

I justified the 1st rounder from Boston 3 drafts from now because they just drafted 3 first rounders and they need vets now.

      Maybe over justified Boston's need for an immediate vet impact, but not even a 5th is a bit egregious. He may not be a top line D-man, but Boston needs someone to bring it up. That's the one thing he does. They want a Vet more than anything right now. I'm fine with a 2nd rounder, but being 3 years away has an impact. Daley helps them get back to the playoffs now rather than rebuild. Imagine when that 2nd rounder in 2018 finally gets to play in the NHL...Bergeron will be 35+ years old.

      Daley's contract makes him not worth much.

      And his skills.

      You'd need to take on an equally bad contract to move him.

      Tip: you can call up players. Everyone you need is there under "RECALL PLAYERS". You don't need to bother with create-a-player.

      2 stars. I agree with Gusto and Svedberg the Swedish Giraffe needing to play ahead of Rundblad.
