If cap is an issue I'd be willing to do something around Hansen

I understand that Shea's term is 8 years too long, but he's still one of the best in the NHL. None of what you offered me interests me.

No. I'd want either a decent prospect and a decent pick, a 1 for 1 swap with a similar contract, or just a pick.

JFK+ for Kreider or JFK++ for Drouin?

Alternatively, to shed some cap, Condra for Hansen?

                                            I could do 2020, and add in a 2018 3rd.

                                            I could do 2020, and add in a 2018 3rd.

Nah, I'd prefer the 2018 1st. Is that okay?

I mean I'd be willing to give it up but I feel as though that's now a little too much. What if we did this:

                                            Kreider + Hansen + 2020 1st + 2018 2nd + 2018 5th

                                            for

                                            Galchynuk + Lazar

Hansen gives you a bottom winger plus clears some cap space for me, and Lazar is a little add on in exchange for the picks.

I said I'd be willing to take Hansen, but only if Condra goes back, or if a pick comes my way and Cracknell or McKenzie goes back. I also don't want to give up Lazar just yet. Let's take it from the top.

                                            Chris Kreider

Well, Chucky is better than Kreider that's obvious. But not by much. He's also got age on him. Chucky also can't play C because of his D side. So that hurts his value. Kreider fits his role perfectly. So I think having just one 2nd and another mid-decent pick should be enough. I can take on Condra if you want, which would give me more cap trouble but I'll figure it out.

Neither Chucky nor Kreider plays C; that's irrelevant here. Chucky is a little better than Kreider right now and still has time to grow; Kreider is done growing. 2018 1st or those 2018 2nds and 3rd. While I do want picks, I need some good ones to move Chucky of all players.

If we're doing that deal, I would need a good young player as well. Add in Stecher and I'll add in Byron + Sundqvist.

While I do want picks, I need some good ones to move Chucky of all players.

If we're doing that deal, I would need a good young player as well. Add in Stecher and I'll add in Byron + Sundqvist.

You don't have Sunqvist; New Jersey does. And that's a big no from me; I can't give up Stecher for a forward at all, much less two bottom six forwards. If you won't give me multiple high-ish picks, let's postpone this deal for now.

Booth traded Sundqvist and Spooner to me for Kreider (yikes). I then shipped him to New Jersey in a package deal; NJ still has him.

Let's start smaller. Condra for Hansen, or McKenzie for Hansen and a 2018 5th.
