I don't mind this at all. I think if DET retained a chunk of Green's salary & EDM threw in a late rounder it would sweeten the deal.

The only reason Detroit takes this is to get under the salary cap.

Yeah good point, trying to forget how abysmal the cap situation is.

I like the return. It's an overpay by Edmonton maybe, but the cap works out for both teams.

The only issue is we're left without a second- and third-line center. Athanasiou doesn't play C for the Wings, and Strome rarely did for the Islanders, so who's going to play the toughs? Management is saying that Draisaitl will play RW to McDavid this year at least part of the time, so do we now trade Nurse for a middle-6 center?
