Not a Flyers fan, but keep in mind that Giroux is not the most valuable part of this trade for the Flyers. Provorov was their best defenseman, averaging 22 minutes of ice time and getting 30 points. He did all that in his first NHL season as a 19 year old. The guy could possibly develop into the best homegrown defenseman they've ever had. That alone is worth at least Galchenyuk, Juulsen and a 1st. Assuming that Philly would take that deal (drastic assumption), that would leave Scherbak and a 3rd for Giroux which is nowhere close. Compare trading for Giroux and Provorov to trading LA for Kopitar and Doughty. That would certainly not be enough for LA to pull the trigger on that trade
