Just 2 more bottom 5 finishes and we'll be contenders

Created by: Theflash9193
Team: 2019-20 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 1, 2017

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
So just for kicks bcuz no one really knows when they'll draft bcuz of the lottery system let's just say they get Dahlin in 2018 and Hughes in 2019.

Dahlin is karlsson level defenceman with a physical edge.

Hughes is absolutely tearing it up in junior right now and has been watched for a long time. People think he'll Definetly be top pick in 2019

Dahlen and pettersson will both come to Vancouver. Pettersson will be 200 pounds and resemble a nylander backstrom hybrid.

Horvat solidifies himself as the first line centre but has Pettersson and Hughes knocking on the door.

Dahlin and Tanev are the league's best defensive tandem.

Green is the coach and plays a very up tempo game that canucks fans will enjoy for years and after a couple years of struggling.

The canucks also have more prospects looking to make the NHL like gadjovich Lind Brisbois.

The following year Edler retires, Baertschi is TRADED to make room for Lind. Gadjovich makes the team out of training camp playing with gaunce and Virtanen to form a shutdown line teams will fear their physicality and defensive game.

Thats a weak top centre Edmonton has McDavid who will likely put up 120 points in the future Matthews will put up close to 90 points hell even Draisaitl is better than Horvat, Patterson, Hughes

I would hope to see some prospects clearly winning more spots on D, and getting picks/prospects for the vets who will be past their peak by the time the Canucks will be solid contenders.
Similarly on forward, I'd like to see clearly defined roles shaking out.

Nothing you could predict though, just have to wait and see.

Small detail: Dahlen plays right side, Goldobin left side

Will it matter? Dahlin might be the best defenseman since Lidstrom - with him on the ice for 30 minutes a game this team will be a contender.

Last place still only gets you a 30% of # 1 overall. And Vegas with 30 new players has almost a lock of for last place. I really have doubts about Joulevi been a difference maker in the NHL.

Its True that if Vancouver gets Dahlin it will be a Major upgrade to their team....
But lets say you finish last that only nets you 18.5% to win it...
Thats a 81.5% chance you won't get it

As a Canucks fan, we'll take those odds, there really isn't much of a better option. Also, good thinking on the future of the team, only if management could wake up and think the same way.
